Helix Stage 1 Brake Kit Mini Cooper S R53
The Helix Stage 1 Brake Kit will greatly improve feel, performance and cooling of your MINI Cooper and Cooper S brake system. This kit includes ATE slotted front rotors, EBC Green Stuff front brake pads, DOT approved Helix Stainless Steel braided brake lines, and ATE Super Blue Racing (or equivelant) Brake Fluid. In track and other repetitive hard-use conditions, the MINI's stock brake system has shown the propensity to boil brake fluid. The stage one brake kit is guaranteed to increase brake heat dissipation, and improve hard-use brake performance. Please note, this kit includes brake lines for all four wheels but only FRONT rotors and pads.
Professional installation recommended.

Helix Stage 2 Brake Kit Mini Cooper S R53
The ultimate braking package for the MINI. This top quality alloy brake kit employs the pinnacle of brake engineering technology. The 328mm modular brake rotors are vented, gas slotted and treated for the most extreme performance driving. The oversized alloy calipers are specifically engineered and tested for the MINI and features the best possible heat dissipation. THE FOUR PISTON CALIPERS DO NOT SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASE PISTON VOLUME OVER THE STOCK CALIPERS. This is very important. Many systems suffer PISTON ENVY (a Freudian condition) and put 6, 8, even 10 brake pistons in their calipers. This does not improve brake performance. By having a significantly greater brake piston volume, It changes the brake bias toward the front of the car. When the driver gets on the brakes, the nose of the car dives dramatically, the ABS deploys (because there is no weight or grip on the rear wheels), and the driver thinks that the car is stopping quicker. This is false. The best brake performance comes from a balanced system that best controls heat dissipation. Stoptech engineers have created the best, most balanced system for the MINI. Calipers are black anodized or optional red powder coated. Professional installation recommended.

Helix Stainless Steel Brake Lines
The Helix Stainless Steel Brake Lines are a direct replacement and help improve pedal feel. They also help reduce the expansion that occurs from the stock rubber brake lines leading to reduced time between applied pedal pressure and deceleration.
Professional installation recommended.
*On late 2006 models you may need to clearance the bracket to make it fit perfectly.

ATE Brake Fluid
| |
ATE Super Blue Racing brake fluid has a dry boiling point of over 530 degrees F, far exceeding DOT 4 standards. Mixes with any other DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid. Super Blue absorbs moisture very slowly, so you don't have to change it as often as many high-performance fluids. Great for your street car that sees weekend track duty.
ATE TYP200 carries the exact same properties as the ATE Super Blue, but it is an amber colored fluid.
Metal cans, one liter each.

EBC Green Stuff Brake Pads
| |
*Now available for the 2002-2006 Minis with JCW brakes/2007 Cooper/Cooper S hardtops
EBC brake pads are the only pads made with KEVLAR(r) fibers. The EBC brake compound uses no carbon, so there is minimal dust. The friction coefficient of the EBC compound is 30-40% higher than common pads, yet rotor wear is minimal. Suitable for use on the street or light track use -- stable braking characteristics up to 550 degrees C. Sold as a set, left and right.

EBC Red Stuff Brake Pads
| |
The EBC Red Stuff is a heavy duty semi-metallic brake pad with a slightly lower friction than the Green Stuff but with a significantly longer life and a higher temperature rating. This pad is excellent for autocross and track days.
EBC's new Red Stuff Ceramic pad is an "ECE R90 approved pad, legal for street use yet capable of stopping you from regular 100mph plus runs without fade. The pads just keep getting better the more abuse you give them."

Mintex M1144 Street/Track Brake Pads Cooper/Cooper S 2002-2006
| |
This is a low metallic resin bonded material made from steel and acrylic fibers. It is suitable for heavy-duty road use and autocross, track/driver's education events. It is much better than the stock brake pads under heavy use. It keeps a constant friction level over a range of temperatures with the added advantage of a high cold friction eliminating the 'dead feel' on the first use. Optimal operating temperatures are 200-400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Mintex M1155 Track and Rally Pads Cooper/Cooper S 2002-2006
| |
This is a low to medium metallic material using both ferrous and nonferrous materials with a high temperature abrasive/lubricant system. Optimal operating temperatures are 550-1000 degrees Fahrenheit. Not for street use.
Mintex M1166 Race Pads Cooper/Cooper S 2002-2006
| |
This is a medium metallic material with the same specification as the M1155 material but with added inorganic compounds, which give it an enhanced friction level. These pads are for race use only: not for the street. Optimal operating temperatures are 950-1500 degrees Fahrenheit.

Slotted Rotors Cooper/Cooper S 2002-2006

Powerslot Slotted Rotors
Excessive heat can cause resins in your brake pad to vaporize or "outgas." As the brake pad wears, the used friction material turns into a fine dust. This boundary layer of heat, gas and dust builds up between the pad and rotor surfaces and inhibits performance. Here's where Power Slot's slotted brake rotors make a big difference.
Power Slot's exclusive Vac-U-Slots are machined into the rotor and help evacuate gasses and dust, shed heat, and keep the brake pad surface clean. And in wet, raining conditions, our Vac-U-Slot helps push water off the braking surface for better stopping power.
The Vac-U-Slot also serves as a visual wear indicator. The slot is machined to the rotor’s minimum thickness where it crosses the outside edge. If you cannot see the slot along the outside edge, the rotor has worn down to its discard depth.
ATE PremiumOne Slotted Rotors
Features: Patented RotorLife wear indicator: The wear indicator's interlaced elliptical grooves are machined into the rotor face at complimentary angles; The MetaCote protective coating formulation is cured at approximately 572°F. No grease or oil to remove; Application specific design is engineered to tighter tolerances than rotors that take a "one size fits all" approach.
Benefits: Helps technicians and vehicle owners gauge rotor thickness at a glance, and notice when they are due for replacement; Groove design enhances dissipation of heat and gases to reduce brake fade, extend pad life. Looks great with cast spoke wheels; Helps protect against road salt, brake fluid and other corrosives — sheds water and dirt for clean appearance behind cast spoke wheels. Reduces overall installation time; Fits and performs like or better than the Original Equipment it replaces — provides added value and convenience for brake technicians and their customers. No machining needed.
