The Helix supercharger pulley is the best performance bang-for-the-buck, period. After extensive road, dyno and track testing, we now proudly offer to you the 15% reduction pulley. The reduced pulley size allows the supercharger to spin faster in relationship to the motor, pumping more air into the motor and increasing power. In an otherwise stock vehicle, the pulley increases boost pressure by 3-4 ft/lbs, increasing horsepower and torque. In a car with other engine mods like intake and exhaust improvements, boost is increased to a maximum of 5 ft/lbs.
The factory software settings keep the fuel/air mixture only slightly leaner than stock -- still very rich -- so there is no risk of excessive heat buildup, even under prolonged track conditions. All of the factory emissions equipment including catalytic converter, and oxygen sensors work normally with the pulley upgrade.
The 2-part modular pulley is precision CNC machined entirely from 303 stainless steel. It bolts directly onto the supercharger shaft without the application of heat or use of a BFH. The hub is universal for all of our pulley sizes: stock, 15%, 17%, and 19% reduction, allowing the user to interchange pulley sizes. Other pulley sizes are available through special order. We are proud to introduce the first injectors with OEM nozzles that have correct spray patterns for the MINI's head. These injectors are manufactured by Bosch and flow 380cc/min., and have 15% dual cone spray pattern. Why a twin cone pattern? because the engineers at MINI designed the OEM injectors to flow directly at the intake valves, not at the central bridge. If you look down the MINI intake port through the injector nozzle hole (or intake port if the manifold is off the head, a central bridge is clearly visible. This is where the main intake port becomes split to direct air (and fuel) towards the intake valves. The correct injector type for this inlet configuration is one where the injector nozzle sprays a precisely split amount of fuel directly into each port and onto the back of each intake valve. An injector that sprays a single narrow fuel cone will wet the metal walls and causes fuel to dribble into the combustion chamber. Tuning/holding precise air/fuel ratios is thusly complicated. Note that these are not cheap re-drilled nozzles, they are factory laser cut nozzles, so consistency from injector to injector is maintained. Professional installation recommended.

Revolution Mini Works has developed a head so good it's been nicknamed 'the Jesus head'. It's CNC'd cylinder head uses the best components available. Custom oversize stainless steel nitrided valves--made especially for the application--are used in every Revolution head. Titanium retainers, custom locks, keepers and dual valve springs are standard. Inconel valves are also available. In preliminary dyno testing here at Helix, the head has produced more than double the power gains of other heads on the market. the Jesus head requires special tuning and may require other parts to compliment it. The Newman/RMW street cam is a no-compromise solution for better top-end performance. The cam is mild enough that you don't sacrifice idle smoothness or low-end torque for the power that you get up top. This part requires a tuning file and possibly other modifications to be effective and safe for your motor. Please call us if you have questions.
When installing the GIAC chip for the 19% reduction pulley, larger capacity injectors are required to achive optimal fuel/air mixture. The JCW injectors are a neat and simple solution: they fit perfectly without any modifications. Allow one hour for installation, and have a healthy respect for gasoline under pressure. Sold in sets of 4. Professional installation recommended. Obtaining the optimum cylinder head-to-block sealing is especially critical in small displacement engines employing high compression pistons or power adders like turbochargers, nitrous oxide and superchargers. That's why ARP head studs are popular among leading Sport Compact/Import racers.
ARP uses a premium grade 8740 alloy that is rated far superior to ''aircraft'' quality. Then, each stud is precisely heat-treated to 200,000 psi. Following heat treatment, each stud is centerless ground to make it as close to perfectly concentric as possible. This procedure involves about ten very slight cuts and results in an exceptionally straight part. It's important to note that lesser quality studs are not even centerless ground - the material is thread rolled in bar stock form (mostly before heat-treat, when the material is easier to machine). Because ARP studs are manufactured to such exacting tolerances, you will note that gaskets and cylinder heads literally glide into position and are perfectly aligned - something that won't happen with inferior quality head studs.
ARP studs are thread rolled after heat-treat, which gives them about 1000% (that's ten times) better fatigue strength than those studs that are threaded prior to heat-treat. You will also note that ARP offers specially undercut studs for several engines. This procedure (done only to the shorter studs) more equalizes the ''stretch'' of both studs, which makes for a more consistent clamping force - one that compensates for head gasket compression when the head is installed. This helps prevent blown head gaskets, and assures optimum sealing!
As you might guess, that's ARP's language, not ours: and we believe it: the quality of these studs and hardware are the best we've ever seen in any fastener. Period. We would not put a performance cylinder head on a car without them.
The Detroit Tuned Bypass Valve is a re-worked brand new OEM air charge bypass valve that is modified to eliminate the "Yo-Yo" in early year ('02-'04) Cooper S's, but is available for all supercharged Cooper S's(R52/R53). This BPV uses a stiffer return spring, resulting in quicker boost generation, and thus quicker throttle response and transitions. The butterfly assembly is also adjusted to close fully, allowing for maximum boost. Perfect for the aggressive driver or racer. Expect a minor loss in fuel economy, and a great improvement in throttle resolution and smoothness.

To help get your power to the ground BSH has developed an upgraded replacement for the lower motor mount. The stock lower mount is a cast piece with a sectioned rubber insert, which works well enough for a stock MINI, but can't handle the twisting forces exerted upon the motors of modified cars. These top-quality mounts help with crisper throttle response and reduced engine movement.
The BSH Lower Motor Mount is machined from a solid piece of T-6061 anodized aluminum and incorporates a polyurethane bushing with metal insert. Both street and race durometers are available, so please call if you have questions. Typically we recommend the street bushing, even for highly modified cars: the race bushings do transmit substantial engine vibrations to the cabin.
8.5mm Ignition Cables feature 2.5mm high capacity Metallic Inductance EMI Suppressed conductor consisting of stainless steel wire precisely wound at 200 turns per inch over a ferromagnetic core. The insulating jacket is made entirely of TC-1500-HS high strength aerospace grade silicone rubber, and its single layer construction will prolong the jacket's insulating ability by conducting extreme heat away from hot-spots that occur near over-the-limit heat sources. The 8.5mm jacket has a service heat resistance of 600 degrees F (320 degrees C) and up to 1,000 degrees F (540 degrees C) for short burst 3 minutes.
Are you feint of heart? Stop reading now. Here it is, the ultimate in MINI tuning packages: the TurboKompressor combines the advantages of the supercharger with power output of a Turbocharger. The kit includes all of the parts necessary to turn your car into a Porsche 996 beating monster.
The prime motivator for the kit is a Garrett GT28rs turbocharger: a twin ball-bearing, oil and water cooled unit capable of flowing more than 350hp. It is controlled by a Turbosmart eboost boost contoller/boost gauge and pod. This allows the user to control waste gate actuation and electronically select boost levels. A custom cast exhaust manifold, warranteed for five years feeds the turbo. Cast manifolds are much less likeley to fail over the long run in turbo applications. A stainless steel 2.5 inch downpipe with integrated catalytic converter allows the car to run closed loop operation with no oxygen sensor "trickers". The charge pipes are 5 layer reinforced silicon tubing with integrated Turbosmart blow-off valve. Turbo gurus from Psi-Fi motorsports designed fuelling, timing, and optional AquaMist controlling. They use their ingenius Psi-Fi PowerPaq computer which is capable of real-time tuning. It controls the 500cc injectors. All lines, fittings and fasteners are of Porsche quality.

The dyno graph is of the TurboKompressor kit in its most basic form, running a peak boost of 21.5 pounds, versus a popular similarly priced tuning kit available nation-wide. All testing was done on our Mustang MD-250 dyno, and represents wheel horsepower, uncorrected, and un-modified.
Helix has developed the first cold air intake to combine reasonable pricing and actual horsepower gain. According to RDR dyno tests conducted on 4/6/04 the Helix intake out performs a leading brand intake by 4.2 hp on a bone-stock MINI. Installation instructions
The Helix JCW High Flow filter replaces the restrictive paper filter on the JCW intake system. It features a power stack filter that increases the surface area to maximize air flow and filtration. Our filter is re-useable to 1,000,000 miles, and can be cleaned by readily-available filter cleaning kits. Even with improved performance over stock, this filter is less than half the cost of the OEM replacement filter.
DDMWorks R53 Street Cold Air Intake
DDM Works has brought an original design and high-quality manufacture to bear in their R53 MINI Cooper S cold air intake. DDM uses a UNI dual stage filter which provides excellent air flow and can be cleaned and re-oiled for a lifetime of service. Completely sealed from the engine bay and open to the pressurized region at the cowl, the DDM Cooper S intake force feeds your supercharger with more fresh, cool air than the stock intake. This also makes it the ideal intake for cars with a supercharger reduction pulley. Installation is quick and easy with simple hand tools, and since there is no cutting or parts destruction, the modification is 100% reversibe.

Originally part of the '05 John Cooper Works or Retrofit Upgrade kits, we have this intake available without the rest of the JCW kit. This is a great option for someone that is looking for a performance air intake without the extra sound normally associated with aftermarket intakes. The unit is comprised of a normal air intake at the front, a performance cone filter, and a valve controlled intake at the rear, which allows additional air in through the duct at the base of the windshield. By having the extra valve open only at high revs, there is no extra noise during "normal" driving below 4500 rpm.

Traditionally thought of as a downpipe combined with a new higher-flow header (manifold) all mated up to a new Platinum-coated 200-cell German-made catalyst. The stock manifold/downpipe/cat has the most inconsistent pipe diameter in your exhaust system.
