Helix Camber Plates

We are proud to offer what we feel are the best camber plates in the industry; here are some of the features that lead us to believe that. They install using the stock mounting holes and do not require any drilling or fender butchering. They mount below the fender allowing for after-market strut braces. The main plate has a machined retainer groove to maintain factory caster settings. Very easy camber adjustment from the topside using two aircraft-grade bolts. Complete bearing holder system retained from above, avoiding the poly bearing pull-through so common on other designs. These bearings assure quiet street operation in marked contrast to harsh monoball designs. The Helix camber plates work with stock or aftermarket struts and springs or coil-overs, including adjustable Koni struts, Bilstein PSS9, and H&R Coilovers. Constructed of steel and aircraft-grade aluminum, all parts are either hard anodized or cad plated.

Helix camber plates have been tested to fit with the following:

Helix R56 Rear Shock Bushings

The much-heralded aluminum rear trailing arms on the R56 (and GP cars) have one slight change from the previous cars, there is a bushing on the stock lower shock mount that extends into the trailing arm. If you try to bolt after market shocks like Konis or coil overs onto the car, you will destroy the lower shock mounts. We now have a solution in our stainless steel, precision CNC machined rear suspension bushings.

Helix Rear Adjustable Control Arms

Helix is proud to announce the next evolution of our rear-adjustable control arms--the strongest and lightest on the market. Already the industry standard, we have made several improvements to the design to reduce maintenance, prolong the life and maintain the adjustability of the control arms. We use the best, most expensive spherical bearings, powdercoated roads and rubber weatherproof boots. The control arms are constructed of 6061 heat-treated aluminum for incredible strength and use premium, Teflon-lined heim joints for long-lasting durability. There are no rubber or poly bushings to give a mushy feel under hard cornering. Unsprung weight is 50% lighter than stock! No other control arms, regardless of design, are as durable.

The arms are shipped pre-adjusted to stock geometry settings and are assembled with suspension lubricant. We recommend a starting point for your alignment setting to be 0 toe and 1 to 1.5 degrees of negative camber.

Helix Short Shift Kit

The Helix short shifter is the simplest shortest shift kit on the market. Other kits "shorten" the throw by using a short-stalk shift lever, forcing the driver to reach down by their right knee to make shifts. Our kit retains the proper shift knob position while providing the shortest throw available for the MC or MCS. The kit comes with complete installation instructions, and can be done with jack stands and typical mechanical tools in about 1 hour.

Midway through 2004, MINI changed the shifter lever, so you will need to identify which kit is appropriate for your car. Here's how: carefully pull the plastic ring (the bezel) at the bottom of the shifter boot straight up. It will pop off the console to expose four plastic tabs around the perimeter. Look below the bezel at the plastic housing that holds the shifter rod in place with a ball socket. On an '02 or '03, much of the plastic linkage will be white but right where the metal shaft and ball enter the linkage, the plastic will be grey. In the '04 models, the housing will be grey and the ball socket will be white.

Helix Wheel Stud Kit

Helix wheel stud kits make quick wheel changes much easier. Instead of having to line up the wheel lug bolt holes with the hub holes while holding the wheel and threading the lug bolts, you can now just put the wheel on the hub and thread the 19mm lugnut. This is great for changing wheels at the autocross or track. Or if your trailer queen has to be so clean that you actually remove the wheels to wash them. Professional installation recommended.

Starting some time in later 2006, MINIs have larger wheel lug bolts. We have not been able to pinpoint a cut-off date for the size switch though, so if you have a MINI manufactured in 2006, please check your wheel lug bolt size before ordering. Thanks.

Clutch Masters Clutch Kits

FX100: Heavy duty pressure plate; steel-backed organic disc; smooth engagement. The Clutch Masters FX100 clutch is designed to be a dependable and economical alternative to an Cooper S OEM replacement. The FX100 is made for the daily driven Mini Cooper S with basic bolt-ons. The Clutch Masters FX100 pressure plate offers 70% more clamping force over a stock Copper S pressure plate. The 02-06 Mini Cooper S Clutch Masters FX100 disc is a steel-backed organic disc with the highest quality hub assemblies available to ensure durability and driveability.

FX200: Heavy duty pressure plate; steel-backed Carbon-Kevlar disc; smooth engagement & extended life. The Clutch Masters FX200 is recommended for the 02-06 Mini Cooper S with a little more than just basic bolt-ons. The FX200 offers comparable torque capacity to an FX100, but provides exceptionally smooth engagement & extended life (thanks to the Kevlar). Owners that daily drive their 2002-2006 Mini Cooper S and wants quick engagement when driven enthusiastically need to look no further than the Clutch Masters FX200 kit.

FX300: Heavy duty pressure plate; segmented Carbon-Kevlar disc; exceptional holding power & long life. The Clutch Masters FX300 kit offers 110% of a OEM Mini Cooper S clutch's holding capacity and has firm, positive pedal feel. Mini's that have than just the basic bolt-ons and/or small forced induction upgrades will want to get the FX300. The FX300 is an excellent clutch for the Mini that is driven aggressively every day. The Clutch Masters FX300 clutch utilizes a full disc clutch that has segments of Kevlar disc to help provide more holding power than a FX100 or FX200, yet still offer exceptionally smooth driveability and long life.

For daily driven street cars, we recommend either the FX100 or FX200, which don't require the left leg of a finely tuned athlete. We also install the FX400, but would like to talk with you first, to be sure that's what you're looking for.

*Failure to follow the required break-in period on an FX300 Carbon-Kevlar clutch (follow manufacturer's suggested break-in procedures) can greatly reduce the life of the clutch disc.

Competition Clutch & Flywheel Kits

Stage 2 Clutch/Flywheel Kit - utilizes an organic disc and is rated up to 300whp. If you still have a street driven MINI and find your stock clutch not holding your power then this is the kit for you.

The flywheel is single-mass, weighs 13.8lbs and is made of 4140 Forged Steel. There is no need to worry about ring gear separation or resurface packs to install like an aluminum flywheel.

The Pressure plate in this kit is rated at 1650lbs and is still able to provide a "soft-like" OE pedal feel.
The organic disc is a brass plus steelback disc which has a higher heat tolerance.

Kit includes: flywheel, clutch disc, pressure plate, upgraded heavy duty throw out bearing and alignment tool.

H-Sport Control Arms

Hotchkis Sport Rear Control Arms are perfect for lowered Minis. They have an adjustment range from zero to negative four degrees for increased rear grip. Each Link is simply adjusted by loosening the lock nuts and then rotating the hex center for more or less camber. The Sport Rear Control Arms are designed and tested to suit any street or track environment. Each Arm comes fully built from H Sport and is pre-set to the stock length. With the Arms pre-set to the stock length, you can then use that camber setting as your new baseline. The Arms themselves are made up of two tubular steel outer arms with a billet aluminum hex center. The polyurethane bushings can be greased by utilizing the zerk fittings at each end. Durable, yet highly functional, the Sport Control Arms give you the freedom to set your Mini's rear camber at any setting. Professional installation recommended.

H-Sport Lowering Springs

The H-Sport Lowering springs are the industry standard for the MINI tuning world, which is quite a feat in the face of competition from the likes of H&R. Through hard work, and quite a bit of in-house testing on their MINI, they have produced the best overall package for a sensibly lowered suspension. The drop is about 1 inch, even front-to-back, and doesn't sag over time. Combined with the H-Sport rear swaybar, you can economically create a great handling and great looking car. Installation? Leave it to the pros.

Competition

The Competition Rear is a massive 22mm, tubular, 4130 chrome moly sway bar weighing in at only 5.5 pounds! Recommended for competition use only, the Competition Rear has three adjustment positions with the softest setting being the more neutral balance. From there, the middle setting will really aid the Mini'­s medium to long mid-corner speed where there will not be any throttle feathering needed to turn the car. The stiffest setting is most beneficial through very slow, tight corners where without the bar you'­d find yourself on and off throttle several times. With the Competition Rear, this type of corner should only be a one throttle application corner with a rear-steer feel. Although handling characteristics may vary depending on your set-up, each position of the Competition Rear is very distinct and useful. Now you have an advantage at the track and auto-cross course! The set comes complete with polyurethane bushings, bushing brackets and 90-degree zerk fittings for easy lubrication, which should be done every 12 to 18 months.

Due to popular request, H-Sport now offers the Sport Rear Bar! The Sport Rear is a 3 position, 19 mm, solid sway bar. Recommended for street and track use, the Sport Rear may be used in combination with the stock front bar. All three settings on the Sport Rear are very useful if you attend track days, yet the bar itself is perfectly suitable for daily street use without any harsh ride effects of a larger bar. Plus, you may find yourself using the hardest setting at the track and then backing down to the middle or softest setting for your daily commute. The Sport Rear adjusts easily, in most cases it may be accessed directly through your rear wheel spokes! The set comes complete with polyurethane bushings, bushing brackets and 90-degree zerk fittings for easy lubrication, which should be done every 12 to 18 months.

Koni FSD Shocks

The KONI FSD (Frequency Slective Damping) shock is an excellent balance of great road handling characteristics with no-compromise comfort levels. It's a two-in-one solution from KONI that doesn't require the installation of sophisticated electronics, cables or sensors. Firmness for sporty driving on even road surfaces. Smoothness for a comfortable ride on uneven road surfaces.


How It Works
In standard shock absorbers the main damping characteristic is defined by the oil flow going through the piston assembly.

Combining it with the FSD feature, KONI added a special valve that controls an oil flow parallel to the one going through the piston rod. This parallel oil flow is closed by the FSD feature, giving a rise in damping force almost linear to the time that the piston is moving in one direction.

Put simply
The FSD feature is a hydraulic amplifier that delays the build up of pressure. In some ways an extra tuning option has been created in order to get the best possible combination of handling and comfort.

Since it is an integrated part of the hydraulic valve system inside the damper, no additional cables, sensors or any other electronic devices are needed to operate an FSD damper.

Lowered Final Drive Gears

Imported from MINI Sport in England, one of the leading racing preparation shops, this king gear and pair of pinions loweres the final drive ratio of the Getrag 6 speed gearbox. It uses straight cut gears so the car is a little louder with that race-car whine. The result is very impressive on pre 2005 cars: the acceleration is ferocious, especially in the lowered gear. We installed this kit in a well-modified 2003 and the car is without a doubt the quickest non turbo car we have driven. The limiting factor is traction, not power. Strut Tower Defenders

Craven Speed STDs are a preventative measure against Mushrooming. Instead of suffering the consequences of a lack of protection, using STD's to your advantage will strengthen your MINI's strut towers before deformation can occur. By sandwiching the sheet metal between the strut and our 1/2 inch thick aircraft aluminum plate, it is strengthened ten-fold. Craven Speed STDs retain a 1/2 inch thickness throughout ensuring that there are no weak spots. Installation is easy using the included instructions, it will take about 10 minutes to ensure that you do not have to go through a lengthy and expensive alignment repair. Under Tower Indurators

The Craven Speed Under Tower Indurators (UTIs) are an additional preventative measure against mushrooming. Double up on protection, using the UTIs and Strut Tower Defenders together to sandwich the sheet metal between the 1/8 inch cold rolled steel UTI and the 1/2 inch thick aircraft aluminum plates from the Strut Tower Defenders.

Installation is a little more difficult than the STD, using the included instructions, it will take about 30 minutes to ensure that you do not have to go through a lengthy and expensive alignment repair. You will need to lift the car, bolting the strut unbolt the struts, and maneuver the UTIs into place before bolting the strut back in place.
