Helix Stepped Core Intercooler

Helix is proud to be the innovator of the world's first Stepped Core Intercooler.

The Helix Stepped Core Intercooler design has a bigger frontal ambient face combined with thicker-than-stock core that seals to the radiator fan/shroud. The cast end tanks have factory mounting points and factory charge pipe angles. Unlike stepped-core copies that have surfaced, the Helix SCI features cast end tanks for reduced turbulence and bull-nosed bars on the ambient face as well as the hot side of the intercooler. This increases air flow across the face of the intercooler as well as reducing pressure drop through the core. The core of the Helix SCI has increased fin density and will flow 400 horsepower with only a 0.5PSI pressure drop, while greatly reducing heat soak.

Installation is straightforward and does not require removal of the front bumper. In rare circumstances, very minor trimming of the plastic shroud may be necessary depending on which model you have, but this is rare. Two sets of hands are ususally all that is needed for a trim-free installation. Please call for help for assistance.

*There have been changes to the intake charge pipe on models built after 04/09. You may need a different chargepipe to install the Helix SCI. Please call us if you need the adapter pipe for your Helix SCI.

Helix N54 Intake

The Helix Intake is a "best of both worlds" solution which enables you to keep the clean, stock look of your BMW Airbox while attaining the performance gains of an aftermarket intake system. This kit is a DIY kit that requires a minimal level of expertise. As long as you are somewhat familiar with tools, this should be no problem. The kit comes with all the necessary hardware to install the additional filter on to the existing BMW N54 airbox. For those of you who are running a stock diverter valve set up, you will need to purchase the diverter valve filter as well as the intake inlet cap and clamp. These parts are found labeled underneath the basic kit. Finally, to add to the benefit of your new intake, a drop in filter to replace the stock paper filter is also available.

AWE Tuning Blow off / Diverter Valve

Helix is proud to be a distributor of AWE's newest addition to their product line. The new AWE Forged Diverter Valve will be the best of both worlds as it can act as both a high quality diverter valve as well as a top of the line blow off valve. Incorporated into this new design is a diaphragm valve which is maintenance free and cannot get stuck open or closed as piston based valves are prone to do. Another advantage is that a diaphragm valve will typically open at a lower vacuum pressure where a piston valve setup could surge slightly under the same conditions.There are no disadvantages to a proper diaphragm design valve. Additionally, when the diverter valves are set to blow air into the atmosphere (blow off valve) the kit includes two filters which will help keep your engine bay clean as well as make sure debris doesn't get sucked into the valve.

Helix Blow Off Valve Kit for BMW 135/335

The Helix Blow Off Valve (BOV) Kit replaces the stock diverter valves on the BMW 135/335 cars and allows you to safely release boost pressure to atmosphere. The helix BOV kit helps prevent compressor surge and reduce exhaust gas temperatures by allowing excess air to escape instead of recirculating, which slows the turbine wheel response. This becomes even more important once boost is raised because the engine will require a larger volume of air to flow between the turbo and the inlet of the engine. By reducing compressed air surge, the Helix BOV kit prolongs engine life. Due to superior design and extensive spring testing, the Helix BOV does not cause check engine lights or problems with idle. It sounds stock under normal driving conditions, but will add that traditional turbo 'whoosh' to your BMW 135/335 under heavy acceleration.

Helix's kit includes high-quality machined elements and is easy to install using normal hand tools. There is no cutting or drilling necessary and is easily reversible.

Helix Methanol Pump Bracket

Compatible with the BMS or Vishnu meth Kits, this meth bracket has been custom made to fit in the engine bay and hold the meth pump vertically for a cleaner look. The bracket has an optional 90 degree quick fit elbow for the methanol line. Made of Aluminum and etched with the Helix Logo this two piece bracket is adjustable to allow perfect fitment of your meth pump in the engine bay

Helix Drop-In Filter

Simple upgrade for the 135/535 cars. This replaces the restrictive paper filter with a reusable high flow filter. It can be cleaned by readily-available filter cleaning kits.

BSH Oil Catch Can

Function:
The purpose of a catch can system is to collect/vent the blowby vapors inherent as part of the combustion process. The factory setup sucks these oily vapors directly back into the engine exposing them to everything in their path. Removal of these vapors is especially important on direct injection engines. Port injection engines have detergent enhanced fuel passing over the intake ports constantly cleaning off the intake valves. Direct Injection does not allow for this as the injectors spray right into the combustion chamber. Over time these oils harden and cake to the intake valves causing drastically reduced head flow, cold start misfires, greatly increased knock retard and of course a nice expensive bill to clean it all out. In the short term getting these vapors out of the combustion path reduces knock retard by not allowing oil vapor to mix with the air fuel mixture. In addition the free flowing lines allow the engine to rev easily giving a more responsive feel to the engine as a whole.

Active Autowerke Signature N54 Exhaust Downpipes

The Active Autowerke Signature down pipe is designed with the intent to makes the most in power. The down pipes are created with the least amount of restrictions possible by utlizing a full 3.00" piping throughout with the least amount of bends and mostly straights where possible; that is impressive when compared to the factory diameter of 2.50". Dynamometer test results are included here using a test vehicle courtesy of
AE Performance. The graph plots three runs for a 2008 E92 335i 6MT with an
AE Performance cat-back exhaust and dual cone intake on 91-octane fuel. The
second run is the baseline run with stock DME programming. The first and
third runs are performance runs with GIAC Stage 1 programming.


Baseline testing for stage 2+ has also begun with the use of a 2008 135i
from European Auto Source. Each run was conducted using an EAS dual cone
intake, EAS upgraded downpipes and an Evolution Racewerks front mounted
intercooler. The first run is our stage 1 baseline and was performed with a
GIAC stage 1 flash. The second run was performed with stock DME
programming. Dyno tests have shown impressive gains for the added hardware
setup with just the stage 1 flash and we look forward to even more.
Additional information regarding stage 2/2+ will be released as it becomes
available.
